Headquarters: Denmark
URL: https://baymard.com/

Are you passionate about understanding how real customers shop online? Do you enjoy using quantitative research to uncover insights that help improve the ecommerce user experience?

We’re seeking a full-time, remote Market Research Associate for our company.

Baymard Institute conducts large-scale UX research studies, sharing our findings through a bespoke B2B SaaS platform that serves 2,000+ retailer stores, brands, and agencies across 80+ countries — including 71% of Fortune 500 e-commerce companies. We’re fully distributed, with ~60 team members spanning America and Europe, all committed to advancing ecommerce UX.

What You’ll Do

Your role as a Market Research Associate will be key to our Quant Insights team, and you’ll focus on supporting our quantitative research initiatives. This includes:

Survey & Fieldwork Execution

  • Programming and QA’ing surveys in Alchemer, including logic, quotas, branching, and redirects.

  • Coordinating with sample providers on feasibility, LOI/CPI, and setup.

  • Monitoring soft launches and active fieldwork to identify and resolve data quality or performance issues.

  • Troubleshooting issues independently.

  • Survey design and/or analysis as experience allows.

Internal Coordination

  • Writing and maintaining documentation for different Quant Insights team processes.

  • Helping refine internal workflows and processes as the program grows.

  • Collaborating with research, product, operations, and engineering teams on program or individual survey needs.

Your role may gradually expand to include more hands-on research or analysis, program management, or strategic initiatives depending on your interests and Baymard’s needs.

Your Daily Tasks

Your typical day-to-day tasks (80% of the time) will be:

  • Programming and QA’ing surveys in Alchemer.

  • Setting up quotas, branching, embedded data, and panel redirects.

  • Coordinating with sample providers on feasibility, LOI/CPI, and field setup.

  • Monitoring soft launches and full fieldwork for data quality and performance issues.

  • Troubleshooting logic errors, redirect mismatches, or sampling issues.

  • Preparing final datasets and coordinating handoffs with researchers.

The remaining 20% of your time may involve internal discussions, documentation, improvements to processes or workflows, or assisting with new initiatives.

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys the technical and operational side of quantitative research.

  • Takes pride in building error-free surveys and smooth execution.

  • Is naturally detail-oriented and methodical in their work.

  • Is comfortable troubleshooting and resolving field issues.

  • Communicates clearly and asks precise questions when clarifying requirements.

  • Enjoys cross-functional work and being involved in the early stages of a program.

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for the following qualifications for this role:

  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience programming and managing online surveys (in Alchemer, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, or similar).

  • Comfort with survey logic, respondent quotas, URL parameters, and custom scripting.

  • Experience working with sample providers, including setting up panel links, redirects, or API integrations.

  • Ability to monitor and independently diagnose and troubleshoot issues in the field.

  • Strong communication skills and a disciplined, detail-oriented working style.

You’ll be part of our newly-established Quant Insights team, but will need to work closely with the Research, Product, Engineering, and Commercial Operations teams, making collaboration essential.
